THE BRIEF

Codisa want to become into an innovative reference for their market, but first, they have to be innovative from the inside out, creating an innovation culture and internal initiatives

So how to transform a company that has been for many years and give it an innovative twist?

FINDINGS

With easy methodologies such as the 5whys, HMW and brainstorming workshop I began to work with stakeholders and gather the client needs.

Later on, I managed to introduce myself to the staff , so I could conduct another kind of workshop for them. First, to listen to employees that have been in a company for more than 20 years, and also to generate ideas and initiatives to drive innovation into the company.

From my desk, I also was creating and sent surveys to the rest of the employees so, I could gather as much information as possible.

Understanding the client and internal user’s expectations and needs I had to synthesize all the information: I gather 84 ideas and initiatives, clustered into 5 main categories:

Innovation environment - growth - image and communication - People & Culture - Special Events.

With all that information analyzed I could gather with the stakeholders again a prioritize the main initiatives.

RESULT

I continued to collaborate with the innovation committee of the company (a new group and initiative they have created since I arrive). So we could create and visualize a realistic process and journey where every idea of a collaborator from the company will be listened and considered.

This process will take the creation of new roles, tasks, and tools.

The solution is presented to the stakeholders, and it is validated and approved by them, for implementation across all the companies for Codisa Group.

Along with the innovation guide for the company, I also translated all the ideas into 10 main initiatives according to the main categories defined:

  • Inspiration and training:

    • Pizza talks

    • Training runs

  • People & culture:

    • Innovation day

I managed to create a strategy and a realistic plan for each initiative so all the company could feel heard.

With all this information Codisa Group is not only listening to their employees, it is also believing in innovation so now they can offer this kind of thinking to other companies.
